A SEAT IN HER COLLECTION ⋆
A Seat In Her Collection is the evolution of Black Girls Love Vinyl’s former Collector of the Week/Month feature. What began as a spotlight has grown into an archival storytelling series centering Black women as curators of their own sonic worlds. Each installment offers readers a metaphorical seat inside a Black woman’s listening space, inviting them to witness the emotional, intellectual, and material dimensions of her collection. From the Black woman who just bought her first record to the archivist with decades of pressings, A Seat In Her Collection insists that every Black woman’s relationship to vinyl is valid, complex, and worthy of documentation honoring physical ownership as an act of preservation and self-definition
