Since 2018, BGLV emerged from the need to preserve the musical heritage of Black girls, women, and gender-expansive music collectors to make space for their stories and to honor the memories shaped by the sounds they love. We envisioned a platform where their voices could rise, their narratives could live, and their expansive musical tastes could be celebrated without reservation offering them room, reverence, and a rightful seat at the table.
